Nick Pumphrey is a travelling photographer with an obsession for the ever-changing moods of the ocean, the people that live there, and the cultures that have been created by it. Growing up in the artistic fishing town of St Ives, in Cornwall, Nick was surrounded by artists and stories of far-flung destinations told by the local surfers. At the age of 18, he began to travel himself, guided by coastlines and the particular shapes of waves that washed upon them. Over the last 20 years, photography has become more and more of a livelihood, a constant endeavour to balance surf trips, jobs with ocean-related brands, as well as creating space for more personal projects.
