INTERVIEW ANDREAS OMVIK
What is your process like when you take pictures?
It varies a lot, from very controlled to spontaneous. Overall it feels like ideas develop over years, and I constantly think about them consciously and unconsciously. But when the picture is being taken, I try to be as much in the now as possible. Being responsive to ideas and inspiration from the surroundings and the person I am photographing.
What kind of pictures do you have on your walls at home?
A lot of illustrations, some of my own work, pictures of my family.
What's one thing you still have from your childhood?
A Christmas music box I got from my godmother.
What gives you the most joy when you work as a photographer?
Meeting people and seeing places, I would never have seen if it wasn’t for the camera.
